A Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electric vehicles (EVs) with a focus on battery systems. This role requires knowledge of high-voltage battery packs, electric drivetrains, and charging systems to ensure the safe and efficient operation of EVs.
Job Requirement
Education: Diploma or degree in automotive technology, electrical engineering, or a related field.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with EV components, including lithium-ion batteries, BMS, and high-voltage safety procedures.
Experience: Previous work experience in automotive repair, preferably with EVs or hybrid vehicles.
Certifications (Preferred): EV technician certifications from organizations like ASE, OEMs, or specialized EV training programs.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
Attention to Safety: Understanding of high-voltage safety precautions and PPE requirements.
Communication Skills: Ability to explain technical issues to customers and collaborate with team members.
